The project envisions an organization into areas that can be succinctly defined as follows:
– Seaside promenade: This is a continuous strip with a direct view of the sea, developed along the entire section covered by the competition.
– Linear public green space and Via Nizza cycle path, created by converting one lane of the current road. This space, acting as a filtering barrier, serves as a virtuous osmosis zone between the urban fabric and the coastal area. It includes public green spaces, a cycle path, equipped areas, parking spaces, and small leisure-related activities.
– Structured cycle path along Corso Vittorio Veneto, which involves reorganizing the sidewalk/roadway edge to create a dedicated cycle lane separated from vehicular traffic for the entire route.
These three areas are closely intertwined, internally permeable, and complementary. They adhere to feasibility and realism criteria, without sacrificing the ambition to create a new, comprehensive urban system focused on quality, well-being, and environmental sustainability.
