The PRUSST (Urban Redevelopment and Sustainable Territory Development Program) of the coastal area of the municipality of Savona aims to integrate a set of public and private actions capable of initiating and promoting an economic and social recovery at the urban and regional level, as well as revitalizing the environmental and spatial conditions for sustainable territory development.
The involvement of multiple proposing entities, the wide range of planned actions, their synchronization and contextualization, represent an exceptional opportunity to halt visible phenomena of decline stemming from a loss of role and functions of extensive urban sectors (disused industrial areas of the port sector, crisis of historical commercial axes, large abandoned containers often in a state of concerning ruin).
This planning experience has initiated the ongoing redevelopment interventions of the old port dock. The Savona PRUSST program ranked first in the region and fifth nationally.
