This redevelopment project aims to preserve the historic charm of Upper Ventimiglia while improving the safety and usability of public spaces, offering a scenic promenade between history and the sea. The new pedestrian pathway connects the Calandre pathway starting from the existing sidewalk on Via Verdi, rationalizing and replacing the furniture with new valuable elements.
The rationalization of the outdoor areas allows the arrangement of the belvedere spaces that are transformed into relaxation and recreation areas as well as landscape observation points. Both are paved in beige architectural concrete with some gray stone designs as a compositional element of the space. The first belvedere, facing east, is redefined with new parapets, seating, bollards and gymnastic furniture for outdoor exercises; the second is transformed into a relaxation space with ample seating and panoramic observation point.
